2007 AES International Conference was a great success.

On behalf of the Australasian Evaluation Society (AES) I have great pleasure in inviting all those who use, undertake or have an interest in evaluation to attend the 2007 AES International Conference. This event titled ‘Doing Evaluation Better' will be held in Melbourne, 3-7 September 2007. Whether it is framed in terms of organisational learning, accountability, quality improvement, evidence-based practice or results-based management, evaluation is now a core organisation activity for government departments, community agencies, and non profit organisations. After more than 20 years of evaluation conferences in Australia and New Zealand, this conference will draw together what we have learnt about doing evaluation better - including what it is we mean by doing evaluation better.
The conference provides a number of opportunities to explore central themes that underpin the effective practice of evaluation. The themes are:

Melbourne provides an exciting background to the conference and the close proximity of the The Sebel Albert Park (Formerly Carlton Crest Hotel Melbourne) to the city centre and public transport routes allows for an easy exploration of Melbourne's exciting range of good dining and diverse cultural activities. Melbourne, as the host city, is located within easy access of a number of Victoria's top tourist sites.
The Conference Committee is assembling an innovative and exciting program to assist in drawing together what we have learned about doing evaluation well and the ways we can do it better.
